Sad, Interesting, And Easily Avoidable

Did you know that most drownings of children aged 1 to 4 years old occur within 5 minutes of the child being unsupervised? This fact comes from Tom Christensen, a spokesman for Health and Human Services Agency in San Diego.

In addition, most drownings of children this age occur in backyard swimming pools, in as little as 2 inches of water.

These are some scary facts, folks. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to realize that these types of deaths, while incredible sad, are easily preventable.

Some Tips to Help Keep Kids Safe Around Swimming Pools:

1. Never leave children unsupervised near any body of water. Maintain constant eye contact at all times and be no farther than an arm's length away.

2. Install a pool fence san diego with a locking gate to help keep your family and others safe.

3. Young children should wear a life preserver of some sort, whether it's water wings on their arms, or a life jacket any time they are near a body of water.

I know these tips should be common sense, but remember, it can happen so fast. Children have a way of doing things they shouldn't very quickly, and it's always better to be safe than sorry.
