I'm currently going through a program that will hopefully help me to find work that I can do from home. It's called the Division of Vocational Rehabilitation (DVR for short). They help people with disabilities to find work that they are able to do. Since I'm unable to drive and my husband works outside the home, my case worker is hoping to find me something I can do from home. They will even help me get the equipment I need, if any, to make doing my job easier.
At the moment, I'm at a standstill, though. I haven't heard anything from anyone since before Christmas. Someone from a different agency was supposed to call and make an appointment with me to come into my home and see what kind of setup I have here. They are supposed to determine what I will need to do a job from home, and then present any recommendations to the DVR so I can get the equipment I need and get started. Unfortunately, I haven't heard anything for a number of weeks, and I'm starting to get a little upset.
I really want to get started in a new job. I don't understand what's taking so long. I've been working with these people since August of last year, and haven't gotten any further now than when I started.
I just put a call in to my case worker. Hopefully he'll call back with some good news for me. I'm keeping my fingers crossed. I'm really tired of sitting here with nothing to do and feeling less than adequate. I want to start contributing to the household again. I want to start making my own money to help out around here.

I hope you hear something soon. I know it's difficult, but I'm sure it will come through soon. Sometimes these agencies are so slow!
Hey Petula! Just wondering if you received that jewelry you ordered? If so, how'd you like it?
I hope you hear something soon. I know how frustrating it can be to want to get going on something...only to have to wait and wait some more. Good luck. And thanks for the kind words about my blog. :-) I appreciate you!
