3:00pm-Two hours until supper
My husband, Mike: "When's supper?"
Me: "Couple hours. As usual."
Mike: "But I'm hungry now. I missed lunch."
Me: "Have a sandwich to hold you over."
His eyes lit up. "I'm going to make me a super-duper, triple-decker peanut butter and jelly sandwich!"
He proceeds to take out three pieces of bread, the peanut butter, and the jelly. "Do you want one?" he asks me.
Me: "No, thank you" I say, rolling my eyes.
Mike: "Watch how I do this. There's a technique to it. First, you take the bottom slice of bread and spead a thick layer of peanut butter on it. Then, comes the jelly. You spread it on top of the peanut butter ever so evenly. Next, you put the second piece of bread on top of that. Spread another thick layer of peanut butter and another even layer of jelly. Top it all off with the last piece of bread, and voila! A super-duper, triple decker peanut butter and jelly sandwich!"
Me: "It looks more like a big mess to me. You're not going to be hungry for supper after eating that."
Mike: "Yes I will. This is only a snack."
He goes to the livingroom with his montrous sandwich, sits down on the couch and takes a bite. Jelly oozes out the side.
Mike: "Mmmmmm! This is the best peanut butter and jelly sandwich I've ever had!"
Fast forward to suppertime, after eating half of the food on his plate.
Mike: "I'm full."
Imagine that. I didn't see that one coming at all.

I love peanut butter. Try in on a burger sprinkled with bleu cheese. I first had it in a gourmet burger restuarant in New Orleans.
