I Need A Break....From Spring Break

Today marks the fifth day of spring break. Five long days, with five more to follow.

The weather has been warmer, but not quite warm enough to really get outside and play. The kids make the most of it by playing on the cement driveway, but are forbidden from going into the yard.

We still have snow, and quite a bit of it, in our yard. What isn't covered by dirty snow, is mud. The dogs track enough in without the help of the children.

They play in their rooms, listening to music so loud I swear they will come through the ceiling. They play house and teacher until boredom sets in. Then, it's downstairs to whine to Mom that there's nothing to do.

While they are enjoying their spring break, I'm beginning to think it's a bit too long. A couple of days off would have sufficed. I'm wondering what they'll find to do over the next five days when playing house or going outside isn't fun anymore.
