I Love My New Kirby

If it's at all possible to be in love with a vacuum cleaner, then that's what it is. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE my new Kirby vacuum cleaner! I know it was expensive, and well, I only have carpeting in a few rooms in my house, but it was well worth it. I use it on my hard floor too, with the attachments of course.

And you know the funny thing that makes me the most excited about it? It has such a long cord that I can plug it in in one outlet and vacuum the entire downstairs with it without having to unplug it and move it to another outlet! That always used to irritate me with my other vacuum.

My carpets looks cleaner, too. Almost like brand new, except for that damned oil stain from the stupid dog the week we moved in. Jake, our black lab, got a hold of a small bottle of weed-eater oil and chewed it open in the middle of the living room floor the week we moved in here. I've tried everything under the sun to get it out, to no avail. It's lighter, but still there.

The kids and I are actually fighting over who is going to vacuum the carpet! Who knew all it took to get them to do housework was to buy a new vacuum! They even volunteer to vacuum, even after I've already vacuumed for the day!

I know it can't last, though. Eventually, the novelty will wear off, and vacuuming will become a chore again. The dog hair tumble weeds will return, and the dust bunnies will take their place under the couch as if a new vacuum never came into the house. But until then, I'm really enjoying my Kirby!
