Been Freecycling Again

I did another Freecycle pickup again yesterday evening. A beautiful loveseat, matching chair, and a recliner to replace the one I broke.

You know, you just never know what you're going to find when you go to see/pick up something someone has listed on Freecycle. I'm always afraid of showing up, finding junk, and then having to tell the person that I don't want it. This definitely was not the case yesterday. And the woman giving the stuff away was super nice.

We got the stuff home, brought it into the house and that's when I realized that I have too much furniture now. Before, I didn't have enough furniture for everyone to sit on, and now, my living room is too crowded. Some rearranging is in order, and that will give me a reason to get some deep cleaning done.

All in all, it was a great experience, and I recommend using Freecycle for anyone that wants to get rid of their things that still have some life in them. I know I'm going to be doing some housecleaning and listing some things on there for someone else to put to good use.

Freecycle: What a Wonderful Idea!

I just recently joined the local chapter of Freecycle in my area. I had heard of Freecycle a while ago, but had never actually took a look at what it is all about until last week.

What a smart idea! Whoever came up with it should be rewarded somehow. I'm in the market for a treadmill or an elliptical and thought I'd list my desire on the website. Within a day, someone got back to me about having a machine and I could come pick it up at my convenience. So tomorrow, I'm heading to a neighboring town to pick it up! As easy as that, I have a new exercise machine, at no charge!

I also have quite a few things to get rid of, that others might find interesting. I'm going to list my stuff and see if anyone wants it. I love the idea of recycling and not just throwing the stuff away. If someone else can get use out of something I have no need for anymore, I'm more than willing to give it away.
