It has been raining here for days on end. Tonight, we spent about two hours in our basement because of severe thunderstorms complete with tornadoes and hail. One storm right after another.
We're finally up out of the basement, but it's still storming. The rain has been coming down in sheets for most of the late afternoon and evening. So far, they estimate our rainfall for just today at four or five inches, and it's still raining!
My yard is flooded, my basement is flooded (it's pouring in like someone left a faucet run), the roads are impassible, and my dogs won't go outside to go potty.
In a nearby city, people are stranded in their cars in four to five feet of water. They've declared a state of emergency in two neighboring towns that I know of, and probably more to follow. It's bad here. Way too much rain in way too short a period of time.
I'm guessing I probably shouldn't be on the computer right now. The last clap of thunder shook the house and rattled the windows. I'm going to take that as my cue to say goodbye for now.

I Think Mother Nature Is Confused
Yesterday, we had a temperature of 72º, with thunderstorms and tornadoes. Today, we hit a whopping 45º, and wind gusts up to 40 mph. Tomorrow, a high in the lower 40's, with a chance for snow showers.
Isn't it almost the end of April?
We had such a long, cold winter, and it just doesn't want to let go. I'm so tired of this cold weather. I got out a week or so ago to start working in my garden, but haven't been able to get out since. It's either raining or too cold.
I just want a few days in a row where I can get my yard work done. I love working in my garden, and it needs help. Next week isn't looking any better. Highs are only supposed to be in the lower 50's, with rain most of the week, which means in addition to not being able to get outside, my basement will continue to be wet, with little rivers running across it.
Oh where, oh where is the warm weather?
