No New Shoes For Mikey

My husband Mike and I went to Menards Saturday afternoon. The weather has been really wet lately with lots of rain and heavy wet snow. The parking lot had water standing in huge puddles all over

Mike pulled the car into the parking spot and shut the car off. I got out first, shutting my door and rounding the car to his side. He was fiddling with something inside the car, and when he finally opened his door to get out, he put his foot right in the middle of a deep puddle.

"%*#! it!" he swore, taking long strides to clear the puddle.

I didn't think much of it. I was in a hurry to get inside the store. As we were walking toward the entrance, my husband says, "If we win the lottery, I'm going to buy a new pair of shoes."

Apparently, his shoes have a hole, and after stepping in the puddle his sock got wet. I stopped walking and started laughing out loud. I doubled over in laughter! He didn't want to buy a new car with the winnings or even a new house. He just wanted a new pair of shoes! It was hysterical!

Unfortunately, after spending the $30 I won on Wednesday on lottery tickets for Saturday's drawing, Mikey won't be getting new shoes. We didn't even break even. It looks like Mike will be wearing his holey shoes a bit longer!
