Tonight's show was a tad better than last night's show with the guys. The girls seemed to do a better job with the 70's theme, and Simon seemed to be in a better mood....at least for a little while anyway.
My favorite tonight was Carly Smithson. She started the show with a great performance. I predict she will go far this season.
I also thought Syesha did a beautiful job tonight. She's such a beautiful girl with a wonderful personality to boot.
On the other hand, we have Amanda Overmeyer. What in the world was that? She looked so uncomfortable tonight, and her vocals left a lot to be desired. I'm still a fan though, and I don't think she'll be leaving us any time soon. I think she'll come back next week as herself and blow us all away.
Is it just me, or is Simon being exceptionally rude and mean this season? Last night he was just brutal with the guys. And his comment tonight to Asia'h Epperson was just downright mean. I thought she did a great job with the Celene Dion song, and for him to say that she wasn't a good enough singer to attempt that song was horrible. Her face just fell when he said that. Randy and Paula just got done telling her she nailed it, and along comes Simon to tell her she basically stinks. I think Simon is at an all-time low this year.
And what is up with Simon and Ryan? It's getting a bit ridiculous, if you ask me. Either kiss and make up or ignore each other. Frankly, I'm sick of watching their childish banter.
Bottom two for the girls this week? Brooke White and Kady Malloy. I'm guessing that if/when Kady leaves us, she won't have to worry. With her talent for imitating other celebrities and singing opera, she should be OK.
