American Idol Top 20: The Guys

Once again, I'm not impressed with most of the song choices for tonight. I actually only recognized a couple of them, but I guess that's not the point. Even the songs that I did recognize didn't sound all that good to me.

I was kind of disappointed in Michael Johns' performance tonight. I thought he sounded really off key on the higher notes. I was so looking forward to his singing, and it just didn't do it for me.

The one that did do it for me was tonight's finale with David Archuleta. That boy can sing, and sing some more! His rendition of John Lennon's song was.....amazing. There really isn't any other word for it. It actually moved me almost to tears watching him perform tonight. For a song and/or performer to move me like that, it must be good, for I'm not easily moved. I find myself looking forward to next week's show just to see what he's going to do next!

Second tonight, in my opinion was another David. David Hernandez, that is. When I first saw him, I wasn't impressed. He just doesn't strike me as a singer, although I'm not sure exactly how a singer is supposed to look. He just didn't strike me as a singer. But, tonight was a good night for him. I thoroughly enjoyed his performance.

My vote for this week's bottom two guys? I'm going to have to say Jason Yeager and a toss-up between Danny Noriega and Luke Menard. While Jason Yeager may be good looking, and can sing....somewhat, he just doesn't seem to fit. And what in the world was he doing tonight? He can't dance and needs to just stand still. I think he'd be better as a soap opera star. He kind of reminds me of Jack Wagner on General Hospital many years ago.

Although I do not like Luke Menard because I don't think he can sing, I believe it will be Danny Noriega that goes home this week. I don't think Danny can sing either, but I'd rather listen to him than Luke. I wouldn't rush right out and buy an album by either of them, that's for sure.

OK, that's my picks for this week. The guys are done. Let's see if the girls can do anything spectacular with the 70's.
