Tattle-Tail Exhaust Will Cost You Money In Green Bay

A new ordinance in Green Bay will soon cost some unsuspecting people money. You can be riding around town in your favorite (not so quiet) vehicle and find yourself paying a whopping $298 fine.

Any citizen, offended by the loudness of any exhaust, can fill out a form, send it to the police, and police will send a citation to the offender on the basis of the complaint. This includes loud motorcycles as well as cars.

In my opinion, this new ordinance is taking things a bit too far. So someone has a loud exhaust. Big deal. You might only hear it for a couple of seconds before it's gone. Don't like the noise? Close your windows. I think this is a case of people having their noses stuck where they don't belong.

That's the problem with the world today. Too many people with their noses stuck where they don't belong. If everyone minded their own business a little more and worried about the next guy a little less, there would be world peace. I'm sure of it.

So now, the Green Bay police will be swamped with forms. Neighbors telling on neighbors. The woman at the stop light who didn't like listening to the Harley sitting next to her. It'll be chaos, I'm telling you. Don't the police have better things to do than to worry about hundreds of reports of loud exhausts? What about all the murders and rapes and robberies? Why not let the average citizen in on that deal, too? Our taxes would go down because we'd be able to get rid of the police staff.
