I'm really excited! This week, I've taken a trip down memory lane with Rebecca. She has started playing the clarinet (MY clarinet, to be exact), and volleyball.
I used to play the clarinet when I was in school. I played from fourth grade on, and was quite good, if I do say so myself. I really enjoyed it, and it was fun tonight when she came home with her new book and had to practice three new notes. I actually played a note or two myself, to show her how it should sound, of course.
I also used to play volleyball at her age. I remember one time while trying to serve the ball, I hit it, and it went behind me and into the basketball hoop. Everyone laughed, and at the time, I was really embarrassed, but now, it is funny to look back on it. She had her first game last night, and even though they lost, she had a blast, and I really enjoyed watching her.
It's really nice to have a girl. A girl that likes to do the same things I used to enjoy doing. I love to watch the boys play their sports, but being able to help Rebecca with the things she's chosen to do is so much fun! I can't wait for her first recital. She's going to be a great clarinet player!
