Happy Stinkin' New Year!

When it rains, it pours. My youngest was diagnosed with pneumonia day before yesterday. The doctor put him on antibiotics, and he's doing a little better today.

Now, after a visit to WalMart this evening, my two youngest are throwing up and both have diarrhea. The culprit? I believe it was some individually sold string cheese. They went from feeling fine, to stomach cramps and throwing up within minutes of each other. Then the diarrhea. Neither one has a fever.....yet. The string cheese is the only thing I can think of that they ate that we didn't.

I called WalMart to let them know my suspicions, but of course there's not a whole lot they can do. The manager said he would check the cheese in question and make sure the dates are all good. But, until someone else complains, they won't be doing much else. I told him that the date on the packages were fine, not outdated until March of this year.

What to do now? I guess I'll wait until tomorrow morning and see how they are. I know from experience that food poisoning isn't something to mess with. My daughter had e-coli food poisoning when she was about two years old. She had to be hospitalized for three days until it passed. What worries me too, is my youngest. If he's not able to keep anything down by morning, I can't get his antibiotics in him for the pneumonia.

*Sigh*

I feel so helpless. It has NOT been a very good start to the new year.
