American Idol: Season Seven - Continued

OK. So I wasn't as impressed with the girls tonight as I was with the guys last night. Even though I know there's more than just two or three good singers in the female group, it sure didn't show tonight.

I said last night that I wasn't a fan of the 60's, and tonight's song choices just made that fact all the more true. The songs they chose just didn't showcase their talents at all. They were boring, plain and simple.

My two favorites tonight were Ramiele Malubay, Syesha Mercado, and Carly Smithson. Last night I mentioned Amanda Overmeyer. Although I still really like her, I wasn't impressed with her performance tonight. The judges thought she did well, but the song just didn't do it for me. To quote Simon, "I just didn't get it."

Anyway, tomorrow night we have to say goodbye to two guys and two girls. It's a shame they had to start the first week with such a tough genre of songs. I don't feel like the songs they had to choose from helped any of them this week. Hopefully next week, we'll see a much improved bunch of girls. I know they have the talent. They just need to make better song choices.
